How To Make Weed Brownies? Easy & Delicious Recipe at Home

With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada and many states in the US, more people are looking to learn how to make weed brownies at home. Weed Brownies are one of the most popular and well-known cannabis edibles. They are easy to make and can be a delicious treat for anyone who enjoys cannabis.

Although there are many different ways to make weed brownies, this is the best weed brownie recipe that we have found. We are using an almost similar recipe at BC Weed Edible to make our THC Brownies. You won’t need special equipment for this recipe and will be a fast recipe!

A Fast & Easy Recipe

Ingredients you need

  • ¾ cup (90grams) All-purpose flour. You can reduce the amount of flour if you want your brownies to be extra fudgy, 1/2 cup would be enough in that case.
  • ½ cup (113grams) Coconut Oil or Unsalted Butter. If you want to add your own cannabutter or cannabis-infused oil you should replace some of the initial oil with it. Just make sure you know the potency of your infused fat medium.
  • 1 ¼ cups (250g) brown sugar or regular granulated sugar. Brown sugar gives more taste to baking goods, but you can add regular sugar to it. That is up to you!
  • ¼ cup (21 grams) natural cocoa powder. It will give you brownie extra chocolate taste.
  • ½ cup (100g) dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 5 ml 1000mg THC Tinctures. This is where the magic happens, each 1ml of THC Tincture is equal to 33mg thc which ends up with 10mg THC per brownies. If you want to make them extra strong adapt the amount of oil accordingly. More on that in the FAQ part.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup crushed walnuts
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp baking powder

Easy Pot Brownie Recipe Step-By-Step

  1. Preheating the oven to 350°F (180°C) and greasing the baking pan with cooking spray to prevent the batter from sticking
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl together: flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. We suggest that you use a sift to remove lumps from flour and cocoa powder.
  3. In another bowl add your melted butter (or coconut oil), THC tincture and sugar together. Mix with a whisk or hand mixer until you get a smooth texture
  4. Add your eggs and vanilla to your oil and sugar mix. Beat the mixture until you get a homogeneous mix.
  5. You can now add the dry ingredients that you prepared in the beginning to the wet ingredients. Beat slowly until everything is well incorporated.
  6. Transferring the batter to the baking pan and lightly tapping the pan so the batter is evened out will help create evenly-cooked brownies.
  7. Add the toppings of your choice, here we choose the classic walnuts and chocolate chips
  8. Place the baking pan with the batter in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until a glossy top forms and starts to crack. Keep an eye on the edges, they will firm up first. The time will depend on the type of consistency you like for your brownies, some prefer them fudgier, then you should cook for a lesser time.
  9. Make sure your brownie is properly cooked. Insert a toothpick or knife in it. For brownies it should not come out clean (especially if you like fudgy brownies), just make sure it does not have a batter consistency. If that is the case bake it a bit longer.
  10. Let the brownie cool for 10-20minutes before cutting them into 16 pieces.
  11. If you don’t eat them right off the batch store your brownies in an airtight container for up to a week. If you want to keep them for longer amount of time simply freeze them and microwave them when needed!

Here are some tips from our experts to help you get the most out of your weed brownies:

  • Baking Tip: All ovens have different temperatures. To ensure that your brownies are not overcooked or undercooked, we recommend using an oven thermometer. This will help you get the perfect temperature for your brownies every time! The average time it should take to bake your brownies is around 30 minutes. But, keep checking on it with a toothpick or a knife. It does not need to go out clean but does not have raw batter consistency on it.
  • Get Fudgy Brownies: If you want to get richer brownies, we suggest that you reduce the amount of flour you are using in the recipe. We suggested that you use 3/4 cup of flour, you can try 1/2 cup of flour instead.
  • Dosing, if you’re new to cannabis edibles, it’s important to start slow and be mindful of your personal tolerance level. 10mg THC is the maximum amount we recommend for beginners. For this reason, it’s best to start with 1/2 or 1/4 of a brownie until you’ve better tested your tolerance. This way, you can always eat more later if needed, but you can’t take them back once you’ve eaten them! Check our Edible Dosage chart by weight for more info on that. If you are using DIY Cannabutter or Cannabis oil you have to be extra cautious and go through a test and learn process before baking with those.

Keep in mind that it can take 2-3 hours for the effects of a cannabis edible to kick in, so it’s not recommended to eat any more during that period.

Alternatives for Infusing your Brownies

In this recipe, we are using one of our THC Tincture because it offers great accuracy in the dosage and it also saves a lot of time. Not everyone wants to go through the whole process of decarb weed and infuse oil on its own. However, if you are not in the rush and would like to experience making your own pot brownies from A to Z we have other options for you.

Decarb Your Weed

You can make your weed brownies with DIY cannabutter or cannabis-infused oil. However, you will have to decarb your cannabis flowers before infusing them into the fat medium of your choice.

This process is critical when producing cannabis oil, and means it is essential to make weed brownies. Decarbing is is the process of turning THCA into THC, CBDA into CBD and so on for most cannabinoids in the plant. While making marijuana brownies, the THC is what will give you the high. You need to ensure that your weed is properly decarboxylated, or your brownies will not work.

The best way to decarb weed is to do it in the oven. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and then spread out your ground cannabis on a baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring a few times throughout the process. Once your weed is done decarbing, it should be dark brown in colour and have a toasty smell. This is now ready to be used to infuse your oil or butter.

Cannabutter

Cannabutter is cannabis-infused butter. It’s one of the most common ways to make weed brownies and other edibles such as Weed Cookies. Cannabis-Infused Oil

Cannabis-infused oil follows the same process as the Weed butter. Cannabis-infused oil is probably one of the most versatile cannabis products you can get, it can be used orally, for edibles, on beverages and topically.

Cannabis Tinctures

Using THC or CBD Tinctures to infuse your Brownies is the easiest way to get where you want. It allows you to have an accurate dosage for all your edibles and avoid bad experiences such as “overdoing” it, which can occur when using DIY Butter or Oils.

It also saves you a significant amount of time in preparing your oil, you don’t have to decarb your weed, and you don’t have to infuse your fat medium. Basically, you have to replace some of the fat in the recipe with the dosage your need for your needs. Last but not least, tinctures are also economical. Concentrates

Last but not least you can also use concentrates or extracts. Cannabis concentrates are very potent cannabis products that often contain up to 90% THC. Making it easy to measure efficiently the dosage for your edibles.

However, you will have to dilute your concentrates into oil before using them. Some concentrates would also need to be decarboxylated, such as THCA Diamonds.     What Do You Call Brownies With Weed In Them?

    Can I make Weed Brownies with a Premade Mix?

    Yes, it is totally possible. Usually, in a brownie mix box you will have to hat some fat whether it is Butter or Oil.     Can I make Vegan Weed Brownies?

    Just as any other baking recipes there are always alternatives that will suit everyone's diet. Short answer is Yes! You can easily make vegan weed brownies, you simply have to replace the butter with Oil and remove the eggs from the recipe.     How Can I make my brownies more potent?

    With this recipe, you can easily make your brownies more potent. With the dosage we are using you will end up with 10mg THC Brownies, however if you want them twice stronger you should double the amount of THC Tincture you are using, going from 5ml to 10ml. 

    It is super simple to make your brownies more potent, don't forget to deduce the amount of THC tincture from the amount of butter or oil you should use in the recipe.

    How High Will I Get When I Eat Pot Brownies?

    It all depends on the number of brownies you are going to eat and your tolerance to THC. The average THC content in this recipe is between 10mg per brownie wich is enough for most beginners. However, some people need 20mg, 50mg or even 100mg to get high.

    How to Store Your Brownies?

    Weed brownies are best stored in an airtight container in the fridge. They will last for up to 2 weeks in the fridge. You can also store them in the freezer for up to 6 months. Simply put them in the microwave when you want to get your medicated snack.
